Hangin' in the Summer

They call themselves the ‘Valley View Gang.'

For the summer, this ‘gang' of friends hangs out at the Valley View Mobile Home Court just north of Harrisonburg.

Not all of the kids live at the park, but summer break brought them together to pass the time.

Front and center is Chris Morris, whose favorite pastime is setting off fireworks. His brother, Terry (far right), agrees. Smoke bombs, firecrackers and bottle rockets are his preferred pyrotechnics.

Behind Chris are Russel Eppard (left) and Steven Miller, whose porch provides the setting. The two teenagers said they spend summer days riding BMX bikes and playing video games.

On the top steps are Felicia Eppard, Russel's cousin, and Ryan Baker. Felicia said she likes to travel to Virginia Beach and Ryan thinks that sounds good.

The teenagers unanimously decided that summer break was everyone's favorite part of the year, although winter snow days came in at a close second.
